On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

A six things day

I love it when I open my planner and there's nothing there! An entire free day to do whatever, maybe stay in my jammies if I choose. I can sit around, drink coffee, draw and ponder. I can even take a nap.

Today is a six-thing day. I opened my planner and saw: one client, one haircut, one church service and three groups! That's a lot of people, a lot of mental stimulation, a lot of turning up in the right place at the correct time. What makes it all workable is that every single event scheduled is something I really, really want to do. Today.

  7. I can relate to your love of a day with nothing scheduled but yet love the busy days when the activities are loved. Each type of day serves as a contrast to the other, and living each one is enriched because of the other. Never thought of that relationship until now. Thanks.
