On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

The dog park dogs

I just got home from the dog park. My original idea was to take Parisse because she's wonky and never gets any exercise. There are three dog parks close by, but one is particularly small and perfect for that shy one.

The day has been gorgeous and it seemed mean to let Parisse have all the fun so I leashed up Brix and Demi too. All three went berserk when they hit the park, but that typically happens whenever a newbie approaches. Brix, however, never did calm down and was coming across as the play yard bully. After 15 minutes of too much rough stuff I tethered him to the fence where he had to make do with observing. Demi and Parisse seemed to have a good time. Dogs came and went, all potential new friends. Eventually Brix was too frustrated and began barking, but oh, no, there's no forgiveness with this mom. You behave appropriately or you can't play. So there!

  2. These sketches are very good - it's so hard to do with all the dogs moving and playing. nancy
