On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

And he cooks too!

Youngest Daughter is away this week so Steve and I have the house to ourselves. It's been an unusual and wonderful treat. Youngest Daughter is an adult with mild retardation and diabetes which means she's high maintenance even with the support of a day program.

In the meantime, Steve has been baking peach cobbler -- yummy, the best! -- and it's just for him and me! We will have finished it off and washed away the evidence by the time our daughter returns next week -- and I'm counting on you not to tell her what she missed. It's not on her food plan and probably shouldn't be on mine either!
