On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Home again, home again

I'm trying to get back to normal after the Saturday-Monday trek into the wild.

Today was rainy off and on all day, rather unusual for May in northern California. It made me want to sleep in (I did) and take a nap (I did not).

After the weekend of hot dogs and s'mores I'm back on track with clean eating, drawing every bite and being fairly careful. I only walked a brief 12 minutes around a couple blocks today because I waited too long and it was so icky out, but at least I walked a little. I walked A LOT during the weekend so I'll probably break even.

We have the furnace going now, but Memorial Day weekend is supposed to be about 25 degrees warmer, maybe reaching 80ºF., a more seasonable number. If that happens I'm gonna plant more green beans!
