On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Back to normal

I was a bit jet-lagged today since 7:00 this morning was only 4:00 Honolulu time. I thought I'd never get myself up. But I needed to unpack, get Youngest Daughter off to work, briefly work myself.

But it was also a particularly beautiful day. I planted 16 square feet of pole and bush beans using the Square Foot Gardening method I tried last year.

This evening was Farmers' Market, which we attend often, and always bump into friends. One of the concessions was selling baklava, one of my all time favorite treats. Oh, it was very good!

I'm still drawing food as a way to keep myself on track with the goal of losing weight. Even in Hawaii I drew every bite so didn't stray too far from my intentions....
