7 Easter
Steve and I were back at Holy Trinity Church in Ukiah, California this morning, 80 miles from home. We are there often because Steve, who is retired, often substitutes as their clergy person while final decisions are made for their permanent person.
I drew Demi at my feet during the service and added a woman in the first pew. Later, at the coffee hour after the service, I chose two treats to go with my coffee and drew them too.
We stopped in Cloverdale on the way home for a brief picnic.
And then, to make life even more complicated, we went to Western Farm Center in Santa Rosa to look at chickens! I got some new ideas for my first flock and it looks like I will be getting them sooner than I expected. The store policy is to buy back any roosters -- our local ordinance doesn't allow for roosters -- and the demand for chickens has been so great that they are selling 500 a week. But he thought he might still have a few left when I'm back in Santa Rosa on Tuesday morning.
In the end I decided to get everything else I need to set things up in the bathroom to keep week-old chickens safe and warm and pick them up tomorrow with Youngest Daughter or wait until Tuesday when I'll be in Santa Rosa for chemotherapy. I could swing by after treatment.
All this chicken stuff is getting to be quite exciting! This afternoon I'm going to rake and clean up a section of the back yard and reconfigure the baby coop. I won't actually need it for several weeks, but it's time to do back yard clean-up anyway so I'll get things arranged.
Chickens tomorrow? Tuesday? Later than Tuesday? You know that I will tell you first!
I have never seen your blog before, glad I found it. I like looking at your drawings and reading your posts, you have such a wonderful positive look at life, true inspiration. I have to keep reading : )

ReplyDeleteChickens? I used to think I wanted some but not any more. I want to be able to travel a little and too many animals put the kibosh on that.
