On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

International Fake Journal Month/2

I missed yesterday but today I'm back on board with fake journaling. This is a much more stylized - and garish - way of working but I'm enjoying the change and the novelty.

The camelia lives by the front door and I started off realistically, even to the bug-eaten leaf. But then I started adding leaves wherever. The stamen in the model is actually yellow, not black.

Today was cool but sunny, a day between storms. Our Easter Day is forecasted to be rainy. We took the dogs for a long walk this evening, but I don't know if they'll get walked tomorrow since we're wimps when it comes to rain.

  1. Great job! I wish we would get some rain here! It looks like we're heading for another dry year. My garden hates that!
