On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Last day of gray

The weather forecasters, otherwise knows as "They," are telling us that today is the last drizzly gray day before an entire week of springlike weather. I love the rainy season, but it will be nice to see sunshine again after a couple months of drear.

I just don't understand why They haven't called off the drought now that the reservoirs are overflowing and they're talking about the need to release some water to avoid flooding.

But while I'm waiting to figure out all that, Valentine's Day is Sunday. I haven't done any iris folding for at least a year, but this morning, with deep dark clouds all over our northern California skies, it seemed like a great thing to do. So I did.
