On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Headed toward the weekend

I drew a couple more kids at Juvenile Hall this morning, but a fight broke out on a unit and we left the art class earlier than usual.

Later this evening I doodled over collage. I think my work hours at Juvenile Hall are about to be reduced, something I'm not pleased about, so I was in something of a blah mood while I contemplated what that might mean.

Taking a day off tomorrow, Saturday, and enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and not doing a whole lot sounds like a great plan. It's cold and gray outdoors with occasional showers coming through - weather I usually like, but it's not inviting to get out and do something.

But this evening we went out with friends to see "The Young Victoria" which I can heartily recommend. Now I want to read more and learn more about this amazing woman and her relationship to Prince Albert. I don't know much about history in any country and England's is so incredibly complicated. It would take me another entire lifetime to feel at all competent in explaining any of what's happened throughout so many generations.
