On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Finishing up

I have only five pages left in one of my journal books and I'm hoping to polish those off this weekend.

Yesterday, my last day working with the art instructor at Juvenile Hall, I brought in stems from the cold outdoors and sat with a boy while I drew this page.

We have LOTS of both in these here parts -- various oaks including these that resemble holly, and Christmas berries or catoneaster (pronounced caTONEYaster) which brighten up the rainy season. Today, by the way, is the first dry day in about two weeks. Our local reservoir is at capacity for the first time in four years. Yay!
