First crop of the season
I looked and looked. I thought and thought. "I'll try it," I decided.
I pulled one. Good job! I pulled another. It's working. One more pull. I did it! I grew radishes from seed! I planted 16 in one square foot and have the first three on display on the kitchen counter. I think I'll plant some more...
I know, I know, radishes are just about the easiest veggie to grow - I grew them when I was 12 years old with no help - but it's the first crop of the season and something I haven't planted in decades. Just think, fresh, homegrown radishes!
Ahhh! ^^ Congratulations with the radishes!
ReplyDeleteNice sketch of them too :)
I think this is soooooooo exciting!! And I LOVE radishes!! great drawing! deni......;)
ReplyDeleteI love your watercolor and there is nothing better than home-grown radishes! Congrats on your first garden success!
ReplyDeleteYou done good! I think we've all shared your gardening journey with your posts describing the method. I hate radishes but still love your sketch.
ReplyDeleteGood job! It really is exciting to grow something from seed. Great sketch!
ReplyDeleteI like how delicate you've drawn them, it seems appropriate for some of the earliest spring veggies to come from the garden.
ReplyDeleteWhen my husband and I were market gardening we'd mix radish seeds in with carrot seeds when planting because carrots germinate slowly and the radishes marked the rows until they emerged.
Congratulations on your successful crop!
