On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Cold and windy

I sat on the couch. Demi plopped down in front of me. I drew. She switched positions. I drew again.

I'm a little frustrated because I don't seem to be progressing right now. What I've learned how to do, I've learned how to do. But I'm not seeing progress and I'm not sure how to improve.

After I completed the assignment in class yesterday afternoon, I added a page to my art journal. I only have about 18 pages to complete the book. That will be a first so I'm caught between wanting to rush right through to the end and drawing slowly, making each sketch my very best.
