On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Sleeps with dogs

We've been having a full week of beautiful weather but tomorrow the rains will come again. In the meantime, I've been drawing every day, musing about planting a veggie garden and keeping up with everyday life (with three dogs and one cat).

Teacher helped me with the concept of foreshortening a few days ago and I hope the sketch of Brix demonstrates that I'm getting it.

I've been trying really hard, really, really hard, to lose a bunch of pounds. I'm four pounds lighter now than I was two weeks ago, a good start. I'm still not walking every day but I'm cleaning my house with more enthusiasm and that keeps me on the move. The doggies would love it if I took them for a walk every day like Steve does...
