On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Oh sniff, sniff, I'm sick!

Today feels like my last day on earth. Well, not really, it's just a cold. I haven't gotten a cold for a couple or three years, it's just not my thing. But today, well, it's a bad cold.

I tried again to draw no drama Obama and improved, but I'm not there yet. I have four years to learn -- maybe eight, I hope -- so I'll get better. As long as the paparazzi keep taking photos for me to reference by, I'll learn.

This week has been early summer here in Wine Country. I still don't have my first container built for my Square Foot Garden but went to Sears yesterday for a higher powered drill. The saleswoman, who seemed to know a lot about drills and power tools, said I had 90 days to try it out and decide if it was adequate to the job. That's my project for the weekend, to build one box.

In the meantime, I'm taking my box of Kleenex back to bed with me for a short lie-down before we go out this afternoon.
