Year of the ox
I was born in the year of the monkey but San Francisco is celebrating Chinese New Year (Year of the Ox) with their enormous, colorful nighttime parade this evening. Lucky for me, it's being televised so I'm "there" for the first time in many years.
I recall, back in 1977, when we made the long journey from Illinois to California, we began as wide-eyed tourists and took the kids to the parade. It's a long one and extremely popular, even in the rainy years, when watchers are stacked ten deep to catch a glimpse. This year the weather is perfect for such an occasion and it looks like morale and hope is very high.
I'm a little under par today - no walking for two days - but managed a quick sketch of this Baltimore Oriole using a photo reference.
I haven't been around lately - stopped in once but couldn't get up the energy to leave a comment. Talk about shameful, I'm not only not walking, I haven't been doing anything. Your bird is great and Demi sounds like she had fun in the park. Keep on drawing, you ARE getting it.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I don't take walks because I really don't feel like taking a dog with me but they start wailing and barking if I don't so I just don't go. My dogs have plenty of room to run so they don't need walks anyhow. I am the one who needs to walk and I just don't do it.
At least you are keeping up with the drawing.
