On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Where, oh where?

I haven't used my watercolor pencils for at least a month and I've missed them.

I have bird feeding stations in the front and back of our house and keep them clean and well stocked. There's lots of bird activity all day long, lots of joyful chirping and enough mess to merit a quick hosing down more days than not.

For all that, I know very few bird names and am trying to study up so I know what's chowing down on my own property. This guy is not, at least I haven't noticed him, but he is native to the area (according to my bird book).

  2. Good luck on your drawing everyday, I'm going to try too, well, some type of art anyhow. My reading is limited to just a few minutes before I fall asleep! Arty velarty gave me "Creative Licence" by Danny Gregory and I just pulled it out to continue reading so thank you for that!
    Continued success!

  3. Hi Happy Fool,
I love your little bird - birds are not always as easy as they look and I think you got a charming likeness!
