Sun, glorious sun!
Today's walking - 15 minutes with Steve
I wish you could have been here today, whoever you are, wherever you are. The sun was shining all day and the temperature was in the low 60's, light jacket weather. It was stunningly beautiful.
While I was staring out the kitchen window a western scrub-jay flew by and chased all the house finches away. It was a brilliant blue, a good size and a hearty scrounger. And then s(he) left and the finches eventually returned.
Absolutely beautiful drawing!! Someday, someday I will be able to do that...I love Jay's and all the birds in the corvidae family. Very smart birds! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou should be pleased with this one Barb. Sounds like your weather inspired you! We had 78 degrees yesterday and will be in the 40's today for the worldwide sketchcrawl :-( Crazy Texas weather!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteGreat representation of the Jay. Things that flit and move about are SO hard to draw, imo. I understand why Audubon (and Darwin, for that matter), KILLED so many birds (and maybe ate them) in order to draw them better. I'm in Lisa's territory with the weather. It was WINDY today... so I didn't stay out to sketchcrawl... though I might put on my coat and mittens and do it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. Lovely color and so delicate.
ReplyDeleteYou captured essential 'bluejay' here. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bird picture! And you've done so well to get the shape right without a photo! Gosh I wish we had birds that colour in the UK.
