On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

The doctor is in

There are folks who look at the weekend as a time to get out and kick up their heels and there are those who luxuriate in the pleasure of being at home.

I'm in that last group, a real homebody. It's my favorite place in the universe and I recognize how fortunate I am to be able to say that. It's not that our house is a palace -- quite the opposite -- it's that it's safe and warm and has everything we need.

So this evening I stayed home and cooked TWO pots of soup. The kitchen smells wonderful!

This little plastic figure of Lucy is a treasure given to me by a client several years ago. I've always liked it -- I like the client -- and enjoy seeing it sitting in front of a shelf of books.

Congratulations on your achievement - every day for a month! I like this little figure - nice and bright and cheerful.

Congratulations Barbara. They say you only need to do something every day for 21 days to begin a new habit. You're on a roll.
I want some of your soup - I have yuchy bronchitis and had soup for two meals yesterday!

  3. Thank you both for looking. Drawing has become so incredibly important to me -- if only I knew how!
