On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Next, a farm

You'd think we had enough with three dogs and a cat but, greedy soul that I am, I've taken up bird feeding too. There are six feeders around the yard and the finches, at least, are discovering theirs.

My personal favorite -- for observing -- is the little plastic box that attaches to the window near where I sit most often. One of these days I'm going to photograph a visitor -- it happens often that someone is chowing down just feet away from me.

In the meantime, I made another tessellating last night for my mixed media book -- of birds, of course.
