On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

A very good read

So many of my online friends have been writing about Danny Gregory's new book, AN ILLUSTRATED LIFE, that I was frustrated beyond words when Amazon delayed shipping my copy -- so I switched vendors. It's everything readers have claimed it to be -- a collection of 50 sketchbook artists, each writing a lengthy essay about how they approach their books followed by a generous display of actual pages. I was surprised by how much space each contributor was given.

I read this book from cover to cover, no skipping around or dipping in here and there, just steady page-by-page reading so I wouldn't miss anything. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, every single portion and have only one question: Can Danny Gregory be persuaded to put together a second volume?
