On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Strings and tangles

We have a responsive Santa at our house. When we voice our secret yens for something he always comes through. This year I wanted a Zentangle set and got it. And when he read in my blog that, as a kid, I had wanted the big set of Crayola crayons he surprised me with the 50th anniversary set of Crayola's 64 pack complete with a crayon sharpener and the eight newest colors. Plus an enormous self-healing cutting mat for my collage and book binding efforts. How lucky am I!

Here are my first five Zentangle efforts -- so meditative I bet my blood pressure plunged 50 points!

That is so cool! What a thoughtful husband you have. :-)

Had never heard of Zentangles before but it looks like a fun way to spend a bit of time. Might give it a try myself.
