On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

We all want it

My blogging friends are drawing, painting and posting while I have had one of the least productive weeks of my life.  This evening I dumped the shoebox full of bits and pieces collected during the past several days and collaged them together under the heading, "Peace of Mind Warranty" -- ironic because I tore it from a brochure handed out by the plumber who flooded our bedroom.  But everything is professionally repaired, dried, replaced and shampooed so the guarantee apparently held.  And this afternoon he sent sent over a lovely floral bouquet for our dining room table.

Demi and I completed our team training for Social/Therapy Dog so I've been able to outfit her in a handsome vest and take her with me during chemotherapy treatments.  The staff welcomed her back -- she grew up in that unit when she was in training as a service dog -- and plied her with treats.  I don't think anyone should have to go through chemo without a four-footed friend!

Hello Barbara - I enjoyed the collage - plenty to explore in there! The colours are so harmonious - must be the way you put it together.
Sorry to hear about the plumbing disaster - but glad it all worked out so well.
