On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Oh, what a beautiful morning!

I am thrilled beyond words to wake up in this new world with our president-elect.  I grew up in the years of white/colored water fountains and segregated schools.  I remember pushing my daughter's stroller in civil rights marches during the '60s.  To see this change in our country and to also believe this new president will create policies in his leadership that I support -- it's just way too much for one mind to understand in this single day.

  1. Isn't it wonderful? And people around the world were hoping for this too. Some say it's naive to hope but we all need it so much right now. Hope helps us know we can move forward - maybe not as fast as we'd like but at least forward.
