On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Lives with dogs

I think I'm going to be a beginner forever but I'd like to become an advanced beginner! I still need lots of practice drawing basic contours but increasingly, I'm starting to make more developed pieces with shadows and backgrounds. I always forget the shadows. I don't like to paint the backgrounds. But.... they're part of the picture too and shadows are really, really important.

  1. Love it -- our Octopus is green and has rope arms - I think you did a great job with the background and the journaling

  2. this is such a fun toy! My dog has a whole laundry basket of toys. From time to time he HAS to dig to the bottom to find and old favorite. I may just have to do a dog toy for my Saturday drawing...hum...
