On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Three day summer holiday weekend - oh, joy!

I'm thoroughly enjoying this holiday weekend. Our Fourth of July was celebrated with a parade, fireworks, grandchildren and old-fashioned comfort food. The weather was absolutely perfect.
.
Yesterday was even more. We visited with out of town friends, toured wineries and enjoyed a fine lunch and great company. It was a bit warmer and then an ocean breeze came through.

I have nothing scheduled for today so it will be a real kick-back summer day. I have a book I want to read, gardening and catchup stuff. I love days at home, just love to be in my own home with unscheduled days. Today will be wonderful!

  2. What a wonderful Fourth with family and friends! Your colorful sketch makes me hungry for strawberries but my June producing patch is still in blossom & with the crazy weather in WA we might get to eat them by August!
