On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

She's home!

We picked up Beulie late yesterday afternoon and took her to a puppy potluck. I made frozen peanut butter bars for the eight dogs and then they romped and splashed in a large wading pool and ran and ran while the ten people sampled everyone's cooking.

This has turned into a weekly event during the summer and is greatly enjoyed by all of us even if it gets a bit rowdy at times (because of the canines, not the humans).

We'll have Beulie until the end of the month when she will switch allegiances and become a Napa Valley girl. In the meantime, we're just soaking up her doggy kisses, her delight in being on someone's lap and her obvious bonding to the family she remembers.

  2. Your painting and your story are wonderful. I'm glad she is happy being back home for a while. It must be hard on her to keep being moved.

I've been given an award (which I have yet to earn) and am now passing the award to you. I think you have earned it. You can find my posting about it here.

Enjoy Beuli. Give her a hug for me. I can't help but love your dogs from all your descriptions of them!
