On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Mud-making

This was one of those days when nothing I drew or painted turned out. Oh, don't you just hate it when that happens!

In the end I almost gave up but then remembered Dory Kanter's book, ART ESCAPES, and tried once more. Her project didn't turn out well either but at least I have something I can repeat in the future with hopefully, better results.

Then something unexpected happened. While I was posting that journal entry, the PRIZE I've been awarded four times recently -- and couldn't for the life of me get it to upload -- just posted itself! Well, how nice...

So I'm giving thanks to Meinhild at http://meinhild.wordpress.com

and to Lisa at http://lisalou-graceart.blogspot.com

and to Timaree at http://freebirdsings.blogspot.com

and to Ann at http://nemcoskyart.blogspot.com

And now it's my turn to award prizes to some of my blogging friends!

  1. Wow. Three times! Yay for you. I don't think your picture looks like mud. It makes me think of some painted terra cotta tiles. Now do the same thing with some grapes and a plum or peach and you'll have a neat terra cotta like trio!
