On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Getter closer and closer

I spend a lot of time in a friend's yard where she has every possible fruit tree, or so it seems. I tease her and say she lives in the Garden of Eden.

A few days ago I was noticing one of her pear trees, where the small fruit was just beginning to develop color and weight.

We're at the beginning of a major heat spell, the sort of thing that defers walking until evening after sunset. The dogs hate it, they languish on the floors, waiting for the leashes to come out. But have you ever been caught sitting on the sofa when three pairs of labrador eyes give you the stare-down?? Up and out!

  1. yep, my granddog, which is a black lab... tilts his head to side... and looks like he's smiling and just waiting for me to go outside and play with him!!
