On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

The first four days

I'm journaling my way through Ireland and have the highlights of the first four days on one page. We're having a wonderful time with favorable weather and lots to see and do.

I packed lightly -- only ten pounds of art supplies!! (Well, that's what it felt like anyway, maybe it's even more...) The critical pieces are a Moleskine, watercolor pencils, Pitt pens, 3H pencils, scissors, various tapes and an eraser. I guess the rest is optional but it didn't seem that way when I packed.

  2. This is a clever travel journal. That license plate thing is interesting. I don't suppose we could do that in the US
