Don't give up, drop down!
Today was one of those days when I was so discouraged about some recent drawings I'd made that I decided to drop down about 87 levels and copy a charming little picture from the Draw.Write.Now series. This one is the second lesson in the first book -- for six year olds! (That shows how desperate I was feeling.)
I used Prismacolor pencils -- I have hundreds of them, donated by a friend who found a killer of a sale, but I rarely use them. (It's on my list of things to learn... after I learn to draw, after I learn how to paint, etc.) I'm seen some gorgeous colored pencil drawings but I haven't done much with them myself... yet. Tomorrow I think I'm going to sit around and draw hens and chickens all day. Yeah.
well I think it's the cutest pic and the colors are so fun and vibrant. I really like how every bit of the page is full of exuberant color.
ReplyDeleteI love your drawing too! You did a great job on it. I've loved your other drawings though so don't get discouraged. Take care, dot
ReplyDeleteYou're making and enjoying your art, what else matters? I love it. Hey your article on every 15 min is mInd boggling. Something like that is needed here in Australia where binge drinking has become a normal weekend activity for kids as young as 12!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think this would be so cute framed, hung in a kitchen with a felt tea cozy copied from it sitting over a teapot on the counter!
ReplyDeleteWe used that book with kiddo! They actually have some good drawing tips in them. But hey, your drawings are fantastic and every time I stop in here I can see more and more growth in your works. And like Clare said, you are enjoying yourself. That's the most important thing.
