On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Hours from spring

You can tell the seasons are about to change by noticing how raggedy the candle edges are. You can learn a lot about air currents in your home by noticing where all the shedding fur lands - this corner, not that one.

That's as philosophical as I can be on this great day. It was gorgeous in northern California today. I pulled some weeds in the yard and planted wildflower seeds in some empty spaces. Last night was near freezing but this afternoon was shirt sleeve weather. I only worked three hours and enjoyed the scent of fresh air swirling through the rooms (and catching the dog fur in some corners, not others).

Anyway, the Everyday Matters Challenge #150 is "Draw a candle," so I did!

  1. Hi! Well, I thought I was the only person on Earth that was aware of Lent. I know this is a bold statement. Your lovely Candle might come after me. It is so nice and warming and it is cold cold cold here in Boston.
My son and I have had no meat this Lent, no chips or dip. Salsa has been allowed on Scrambled eggs. Yes, I know - the no eggs- but I am firm believer that males have to have a true protein. I think it bad for their muscles to go without. We eased up a little, for His brother, I ate Salmon. Glad your dogs are doing so well. Thank you so much for leaving a comment on my blog.

  3. Barbara! Did you see my Photo of 'Spring Surprise'?
It is of snow. But I think it helps in visulizing rain.
