Surprise, (not), it's raining
It's raining again, surprise. Today was actually the first dry day, it just looked ready to rain all morning and all afternoon. And now it's sprinkling with a forecast of something heavier during the night.
So what's a mother to do except put her feet up and sketch the closest object. I haven't mastered the skills of foreshortening yet, I'm still learning basic contour drawing, but here's a rocking chair that sits proudly in our living room. It originally belonged to Steve's grandfather who died in 1953. The rocking chair was passed around and ended up with us. Steve loved his grandfather. He gladly took the chair to be reupholstered in a lovely, soft burgundy corduroy. It has nice lines, something I couldn't capture as well as I would have liked, but it's a piece I can practice with again in the future. When it rains.
Barbara, you started out well this year. Like you art. Thanks for adding a link to my blog.
