On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Where did this thing come from?

We've been hauling out all the Christmas decorations and ornaments this weekend and turned up this oversized mug that begged to be drawn. This year feels more Christmasy than usual, probably because it's so cold. We don't typically see temperatures in the low 30s, even below freezing, and when we do it's usually January, so we're cranking up the heat and the dogs are curled up like giant pretzels. We shopped for their Christmas presents yesterday afternoon, oh, they will be so happy!

  2. What a cute mug. I have an Easter one similar to this. I keep pens and such in it. I never thought to draw it! You did a wonderful job on this.
