Christmas bulletins
It's finally Christmas! We made it! I hope you had a wonderful day and, if you celebrate the entire 12 days of Christmas, I hope each one is a wonderful event in itself.
First there was Advent 4 on Sunday morning and then there was the first mass of Christmas on Monday night. The church we attend has started using large bulletins, 8.5x11 inches, and when I walk in and am offered one of these it's like handing me a coloring book. I usually doodle in church anyway, it helps me maintain attention, and these ultra large pages always have lots of blank spaces to add even more. And then I tear them apart and paste them together again.
In case you're wondering why there are so many dog sketches, it's because Beulie is in training to be a service dog -- and, just in case she actually graduates and her disabled person attends church, we take her regulararly. She behaves extremely well, curls up and sleeps on the floor. Then she accompanies me to the altar where she is given a blessing. At the coffee hour parishioners tell me how good she is, how their dog would never do as well in church, and how can I bear to return her in May? Believe me, I'm starting to wonder about that last one myself.
Merry belated Christmas, from one survivor to another. Thank you for sharing your doodles!
