Help, I'm falling in love with my dog!
I am a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence, an agency that provides service dogs for the disabled. Beulie is my fourth CCI puppy. She's nine months old now, a gorgeous yellow lab, golden retriever mix. One of the fun things I get to do is to take her into public places our pet dogs aren't allowed to visit--restaurants, stores, hospitals, schools and many others. This morning I took Beulie to church where she has already been many times. If her future disabled person attends church Beulie will be capable of behaving appropriately from her many visits with me. She slept and slept and slept. Very few people were aware that there was a young puppy in church because, if they didn't see us arrive, she was so perfectly behaved (and asleep) that there was no sound or motion whatsover. Already I dread turning her in to the professional trainers next summer because we've bonded and I love her so much! (Click to enlarge)
Beautiful sketches! And what a wonderful thing you are doing raising this dog. I really admire your strength.
