Home again, home again
I've been in Alaska for the last week or so and took a vacation from blogging. I missed writing to the universe about my life! Anyway, the glaciers are still there, chunking off and melting, but still there and quite gorgeous.
Now that I'm back home I'm also back to class. I'm taking three art classes this semester. One is taught by an art therapist and is more about depicting internal emotional states than what is seen externally. I'm also still in the ongoing watercolor class designed for "active seniors" which I am proud to say describes me. The third class is called "Drawing with Color" and is primarily a drawing class using pastels. I look forward to all three and am delighted that I was able to squeeze them into my schedule, continue to work parttime and fulfill other responsibilities. Life is good! Tonight, in the pastel class, we were asked to draw two pears using black, gray and white pastels. This is a new medium for me, it's gonna take a lot of practice, practice, practice.
Our homework is to repeat the assignment, not necessarily with pears. There's no class next week (Labor Day) so I have time to focus and improve.
Nicely done! I am focusing also on pastel - now that my work space is arranged.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing more and reading about your classes.

This is wonderful work! Great form!
ReplyDeleteWell done! Your shading on the pears is really good.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I'm dabbling with pastels, too, but I think what I need is to do a class. Sometimes just having someone say this is how you do it helps a whole lot! BYW, where did you get that awesome counter? Looks great.
