Post this dog
I was goofin' around with my ancient, dinosaur of a sewing machine (Sears Kenmore, circa 1965) and decided to sew a fabric postcard for my young grandson. I make postcards for both boys every week, sometimes more often, so there's a steady stream of Nana's goofiness hitting their mail box. This one was adapted from a pattern in "Quilt Designs for Postcards" published by the American School of Needlework. I sewed right through the card stock so the LOVE is stitched backwards on the reverse side -- and I wrote my message on top of the thread! When I get some fusible webbing I'll be able to follow the directions more precisely because I love the idea and it was a fun break in the day -- and the same booklet has some other great ideas.
What a neat postcard!! No doubt, your grandsons get a real kick out of receiving these wonderful cards from you each week. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I'm betting your grandsons have a regular watchful eye on the postman ... such a treat for them to receive. And a wonderful collection to display in their rooms or in an album.
