On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Sunset Inn

We found a wonderful place to stay for the four-day weekend. Yosemite National Park doesn't allow pets in any of its lodging so we googled pet-friendly motels and came across Sunset Inn just a mile from the gate at the Groveland entrance. We couldn't have found better. It was cozy and rustic. There were chickens to wake us in the morning and we slept in our own cabin in a brass bed decorated with needlepoint dolls. Everything was immaculate. There was both a wood stove and a wall heater. There was a kitchenette for our meals "at home." The hosts, Bill and Lauren, were warm and welcoming and helpful when we had questions. We really hope to return, we were so happy.
